We offer a few different bike fit options ranging from a basic bike sizing through to helping you dial in your position on your race bike.
If you’re buying a new bike then we can carry out a Sizing Fit to help you purchase the right size frame or bike.
Next step is an Endurance Fit. This is about getting you into a comfortable position for longer rides, and getting rid of those niggles that we all seem to suffer from after a while on the bike.
If speed is your goal then we can help with that too with a Performance Fit.. Be it road, track or TT, we can help you find the right position This is going to be a more aggressive position to match your riding.
We’re all different, and whether we like it or not we all have things that affect how we sit and pedal on the bike. And cycling can be very unforgiving when things aren’t aligned correct.
The Postural Assessment is the first step of a bike fit, and is used to identify your own particular quirks. We’ll also ask about any current or previous injuries.
We‘ll then use what we discover to help guide the fit. No algorithms. No AI driven software. We fit the bike to you, determined by how you feel. It’s a totally individual approach, because after all, that’s what we all are. Warts and all.
Where we press on the pedals is very important both in terms of efficiency and comfort on the bike. And the position of your cleats on modern clipless pedals need to be set up correctly as a consequence.
This is where the bike fit starts for real, and we’ll need to do this before moving onto an Endurance or Performance Fit. It really is the foundation of the bike fit, and if it’s not quite right then the bike fit won’t be either.
We have cleat positioning tools for Look Keo, SPD-SL, SPD & Speedplay so can fit cleats for the most popular brands.
We can also carry out foot correction to deal with things like over pronation or collapsing arches. Both of which can prevent everything being nicely aligned.
Once we've got your cleats positioned we can then start to think about your position on the bike. To do this we'll use either our fully adjustable bike fitting rig in our studio, or we can do this on your own bike at a convenient location We’ve got some clever gizmos that allow easy adjustments to the front end, without repeated dismantling of handlebars etc.
Endurance and Performance Fits are more in depth than a Sizing Fit, and really zero in on your ideal position for the type of riding you want to do. Both fits look at what’s comfortable for you, just with a different focus.
However we’ve done your fit you‘ll need to go away and ride your bike for real. Rollers and turbo trainers are great for making adjustments to your position, but they’re no substitute for riding in real life. We’ll follow up with you once you’ve ridden a bit, and make any adjustments needed. We’ll do this for up to a month after your fit.
Once we’ve found your position we can then record your bike fit measurements so you’ve got them for future reference.
We can also help to transfer this position to your own bike. This may mean you need to purchase some additional components i.e. a different handlebar stem. And depending on your current set up there may be some additional charges for mechanical work involved.
A Sizing Fit takes around an hour, and we charge £75 to do this. We aim to be able to give you your saddle and handlebar positions to within +/- 15mm, which should be enough to allow you to select the correct size frame.
If you want your cleats aligned then we do this for £65. Price is per pair of shoes, but if you want more than one pair done we can offer a discount on extra pairs if they're done at the same time..
An Endurance Fit takes 2-3 hours, and we charge £175 for this. This includes a Postural Assessment, as well as a more thorough assessment of your position on the bike. We aim to get this within +/- 5mm.
A Performance Fit takes a bit longer, and aims to get your position to within +/- 3mm. More work obviously so we charge a bit more at £225.
