Missing your Cylco-Cross season while we all deal with Covid? Us too!
We may have a solution to help you get your mud fix though.
Individual circuits that use Strava segments to see who can ride a course the best.
Find a route on here that you want to ride solo. There will be a Strava segment to accompany each course. With your bike computer off, do a practice lap to work out the route. Once you've got it sussed, turn on your computer, and see how quickly you can do 5 laps of whichever course you've chosen. Hopefully Strava will do the rest.
There's a "Cross in the Park" club set up on Strava too.
Send it over. We can draw it up if needs be, and then add it to the list. Courses want to be 2-3km a lap, and with a route that's easy to follow using natural features. No course tape for us for a while.
Strava segment needed for 5 laps. Keep it the same for all the courses.
Check that the route you're about to ride is allowable. We'll have tried to do a bit of due diligence, but if this takes off we won't be able to check every course. And we're really just providing somewhere for people to send their routes. We're relying on you to provide safe courses in places where we're allowed to ride. If it turns out it isn't let us know and we'll update the info.
And be considerate to other people out there. Don't mow anyone down, or yell at them to get out of the way because you're trying to get a KoM. It's not a real race, and it's certainly not going to be on a closed circuit. It's a bit of fun until we're allowed to race again for real. Try not to take it too seriously.
Bit of everything on this one, and it's our local practice loop. Steps. A power climb. Some slippery off camber if it's been wet.

Single track, gravel track, and a couple of fast downhill sections across open areas.
Please be very careful of other people though. Particularly on the gravel tracks. Very popular with dog walkers.

All very foresty this one. Basically clockwise around the outside of the woods. Popular with dog walkers again, but say hello and they'll say hello back.

Big open field, on a hill. Route avoids the tarmac paths to try and keep away from other users. Can be very busy, especially at weekends, but it’s very open and there’s plenty of room.

Short and punchy little circuit. Few ups and downs. A few twists, and a set of steps!
